As far as lighthouses go, it is not the tallest or biggest but it has quite a good collection of historic artifacts. It s usually open and Sundays and you can take a tour.

The Sea Girt Lighthouse is a landmark in town. It’s run by a dedicated group of individuals who run a party once a year to ensure everyone is still alive.

Visited with friends who were completing the Lighthouse Challenge . A beautiful view, interesting museum and keepers quarters. Volunteers are helpful and friendly.

Small but packed with history and interesting displays and exhibits. Parking is on-street and lighthouse is usually open on Sundays. Get here early during peak times (like NJ Lighthouse Challenge weekend) because only four people plus a docent can be accommodated at the very top,...More

We stopped by when it was closed, so therefore did not get to go in the building. But was impressed with the outside and the landscaping. Overall it was worth the stop, although there is no parking so be prepared to walk, especially in season.

Sea Girt lighthouse is right on the beach and a very attractive structure. If you want to go inside it is open on Sundays but the other days it is still worth stopping just to appreciate one of the Shore's lesser known lighthouses.

Despite having only a few steps, this has a wait because they only fit 6 at a time. Plus the guy talks a lot at the top. But it's beautifully restored and offers a great view of the ocean.

Volunteers tell you about each room and the history of the light house. Great views of the ocean from the window. It doesn't take a long time and is only open on Sunday afternoons, so it is great to combine with a walk on the...More

The building was interesting, although not everything is authentic. The light tower was not the original. The man who gave me the tour upstairs in the building must have thought I was not being attentive. When he was explaining the furniture he made the comment,...More

The Sea Girt Lighthouse is well worth a trip to the beautiful town of Sea Girt. The lighthouse is well maintained, so it's easy to imagine what it was like to visit 100 years ago. Stop at the Parker House across the street for lunch...More
