We only took a short trail. But with the fine weather, lots of snow, kind service (thank you Kim) it was wonderful! The rent of skis is not cheap ~30$ per person including pass.

This is a really nice State park, with interesting views from the top, several easy but interesting hiking trails, a lake with a beach, and, of course, the High Point monument, built to honor NJ war veterans. Worth a visit!!

We would have loved to climb this monument, but it is closed in winter. Still, the views are exceptional and the access roads are easily passible.

We went snowshoeing here with our 2 little kids and we all had fun. Affordable pricing, even for cross country skiing! Friendly staff at rental center . It is definitely a great park to visit for all seasons!

We've been invited to stay with friends in one of the cabins on Memorial Day weekend- has anyone stayed in them, and do you have any recommendations/advice for folks staying with toddlers? Also, is there an outdoor grill at the cabin or anywhere else in the park where we could cook hot dogs or roast marshmallows?

I can't help you with the cabins, I have never stayed there but I can tell you there are many picnic sites in the park with charcoal grills. I hope it helps a bit and enjoy the weekend.
Bob / All, my wife and I live in central NJ and are avid hikers but have never been to High Point State Park. Are there any specific trails that can be done in a few hours that offer some challenges (e.g., elevation gain) with good scenic views that you can recommend. We are planning on going in March. Thnx!!!

There is a lodge (it's the bath house in summer) where there are friendly park employees who will tell you exactly where you might want to go. It will be fairly wet in March, although most of the trails are covered with... More
