Addo does have a lot of elephants, although on this trip it took until the third day to really see them in big numbers. Their large family groups are quite special to observe, especially the way they protect their most junior members. But there is a lot more to see in Addo. In addition to large numbers of kudu, zebra,... More

Visited Addo on route from PE to CapeTown. Amazing national park. We choose to be driven around by a local ranger ( rather than self drive ). We cannot recommend this option highly enough. We were taken of the normal roads in to the scrub and consequently saw so much more wildlife including a lion guarding its kill ( apparently... More

I cannot describe how much I loved being in Addo National Park. I thought the whole experience was magical. There is something very humbling and overwhelming about being in the natural habitat of wild animals. Our tour group was very lucky as we went on the early morning safari tour and then went out after breakfast also. We had the... More

We visited Addo for the first time this year, after visiting Kruger and Chobe in Botswana many times in previous years. The vegetation is very different to that in the other parks and the variety of wildlife that we saw was a little limited by comparison to other parks. The only members of the big 5 (or 7) that we... This park is rightly called an Elephant Park since these are the most numerous animals to observe. There are other animals but we saw far fewer being on an own drive. We managed to see several different groups of elephants and some from very close by. This made the trip well worth while. We spent four hours there in total.

There are plenty of elephants so you're going to see some. There are no giraffes (due to them not being native to the area) and only a handful of lions (so we didn't get to see any). The lions also appear to only come out in the morning or at night, so if you can, try to book early or... More

I had a fantastic time even if the weather was cloudy and rainy. I chose a tour combined with Schotia reserve. Scott and Zaine were excellent guides. The tour was in a close van but it was easy to spot the elephants and also many more animals. They were a lot of cars self driving inside the park too.

Have been here twice now, again a great visit this time. We saw numerous big groups of Elephants, a lion family, giraffes, Eland antelopes, zebra, buffalo, hartebeest, bush pigs.... and so much more! Really nice park for game viewing if you are doing the Garden Route

What a unique treasure it is for those living in PE to have the Big 5 pretty much on their doorstep (within 30min) and at a mere cost of R150 in conservation fees for a small family. Roads are easy to access using a passenger car, animals are plentiful and spotting animals relatively easy. We saw many elephants, some in... More
