We visited as we saw the estate listed on the tram route and were interested in discovering 'off the beaten track' estates in Franschhoek. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of wine as well as the excellent service by Budha "funky Budha". Recommend to anybody looking for new discoveries in the incredible Franschhoek valley.

We come here by bike. They offer us nice facilities when we open the door. The chocolate and wine pairing offers you four wines with four chocolates. All are very tasty and we can recommend.

This vineyard is on the wine tram route and has a good reputation for its pinotage. However, for me, it’s was the Chenin Blanc that was the star of the tasting. Recommend you try the wine and chocolate pairing. The chocolates are from Belgium and were delicious. Won’t take you long to walk around but it’s a nice place.

We had a very pleasant experience at La Couronne Wines when we visited back on 13 November, enjoying their wines so much we ordered a number of cases, which they assured us would be delivered to us here in the UK in time for Christmas.
Over the course of the following week we visited a number of other wineries, similarly ordering cases for a Christmas delivery. Returning to the UK these latter orders promptly arrived by the first week in December; La Couronne’s unfortunately did not.
I raised a query with the Shipping Agent through their website on 4-Dec and after an initial silence I finally got through to them on 9-Dec and was told that they wouldn’t be shipping my cases before Christmas and couldn’t confirm a date in January when they’d be despatched.
Less than impressed I contacted the Sales and Marketing Manager at La Couronne. After his initial positive response on 11-Dec assuring me that he’d resolve the situation he has gone to ground, not answering my calls to his cell phone or responding to my voicemails or email messages.
So here I am, nearly 2 months after placing and paying for my order in full, with no idea when, or even if ever, I will receive my wine... this could prove to be a very costly error on my part.

We booked 6 x people on the Blue Line Wine Tram. We thought from googling the wine farms that La Couronne looked like the best place to eat lunch and so we booked lunch here. When we arrived they couldn’t find our booking (made 3 months ago). They were pretty empty so they could accomodate us. I was very disappointed as they had no gf options available except a salad.
They apologised and offered us free wine tasting. But honestly, it’s 2018, Woolworths South Africa stocks gf food- there is no excuse to
Not have a gf menu. Very disappointed! Our waiter was very apologetic and helpful but thus us a systemic problem! Get out of the 1980s please!
We won’t be back or recommending your farm until your menu is offering options for dietary requirements like most of the other farms do.

This has to be one of the most unique and innovative wine farms I've visited on the wine tram tour so far. On entering, the hostess received us with wonderful hospitality. We ordered the braai pairing tasting. Braai is a type of barbecue that is uniquely South African. The tasting board came with mini charred meats, including ostrich, a piece of corn on the cob and a mini braai broodtjie (barbequed melted cheese and tomato sandwich). Wines are lovely. The setting of the vineyard was serene. Grape trees are planted on a sloping hill. Lovely must see place to visit.

We've visited La Couronne several times over the last five years and have always looked forwards to our return visits, enjoying some good wine on the sunny balcony.
Sadly this year the experience was just really disappointing, so much so we won't be including it in our list of "must-do" wine farms when we return again next year.
The server really wasn't that interested in our wine tasting, minimal details about the wine and not at all interested in doing anything other than the standard rattle through.
Fair enough if you are doing the basic or express style of the wine tram perhaps but when you are now trying to charge 150 rnd for a so-called premium wine tasting, it's fair to expect more - especially given the huge competition and the number of places nearby with both better wine, views, experience and value for money.
A real shame to see it change so much - I hope they realise it's costing them loyal customers and look to make changes for the better instead.

We were a couple of friends who did wine tasting of which a staff member by the name of Neil told us that we need to pack up because he needs to go home. It was exactly 16:55 and we were in the middle of the tasting. He has an extremely bad attitude. I won't ever set foot there again. Bad customer service. Please supply your staff with transport so that they won't become irate with customers.

Interesting venue. We choose the tasting and were pleased with the chocolate pairing. You can get a great view of the workings of a winery.
