Really slow service at wine tasting and uninformed staff. Not what we expected from Richard Branson. The farm has such a rich heritage but we were super disappointed in the atmosphere, service and staff. The wine was also below average compared to what we expected. Pricing cheap and quality too.

I can definitely suggest to stop here if you are doing the wine tram. The views from Mont Rochelle is breathtaking, and the restaurant / tasting room is modern and try to maximise the views by having open terraces where you could enjoy your wine. We stopped here to have a picnic. Albeit a bit pricey (but worth it) the... More

This was our first stop on the Franschhoek Wine Tram. There were around 15 other people that were with us from the tram, so they had quite a lot of people to attend to at the same time. Because the wine tram runs on a set timetable the wineries should be able to anticipate crowds of people, however there was... More

On a recent trip to Franschhoek we chose to stay at Mont Rochelle as we have experienced a few very nice stays there before. Unfortunately the hotel is 'tired' and in need of improvement in many ways. The gardens are neglected, the rooms and bathrooms are too well used and overall everything a bit shabby. This is not a five... More

The tour given by the Mont Rochelle people is brief but very nice. The wines are also good. Especially the red ones.

We had some amazing Chardonnays at this winery.  They also do food which looked good - sadly we were too full to eat anything.  The view from the front of the winery is stubborn.  Worth visiting.

Came here for lunch! Loved this place for the way staff treat you! Cellar tour is OK, but the place is set amidst awesome surroundings and views... orchards, plantations, mountains! Stunning!

I only came here for the cellar tour and wine tasting! I recommend both! I love this place for a few reasons - one, it's the first black-owned winery in South Africa. (Granted, it was first owned by black Congolese, not South African man, but still.) Second, the views are absolutely amazing... you can see the orchards and the mountains!... More

We stayed here in January as part of our honeymoon in South Africa. The hotel and its amenities were absolutely fantastic. The hotel is in such a beautiful location and very close to the town. The service was excellent - the staff couldn't have done enough to make our stay enjoyable. We can't wait to come back and visit. Caireann... More
