We did a full morning visit to this renowned winery. First going through all their cellars, then a tour over their well maintained centuries old property followed by a tasting of their wines and thereafter an enjoyable lunch in their beautiful restaurant. It was a very informative morning and everyone we met knowledgable and smiling.

The Wine Estate is in one of the most beautiful settings possible. The gardens are a joy, and roses were abundant. On our tour we also met Koos, the vegetable gardener, who impressed us with his passion and dedication. The wine tasting with Michael, one of the wine makers on the Estate was brilliant. The whole experience was one that... More

While the setting is beautiful and the wine delicious, the lunch at the La Motte farm shop was disappointing. We had a focaccia with roasted veg. The portion was tiny, and we left very hungry.

I have been visiting this estate for the last 12 years every time I visit South Africa which is about four times. The surroundings and vista are superb, the wines excellent, the amenities world class. I have only eaten here twice and to be honest the food was very good but not memorable, though it could be different now with... More

What a nice place!! Everything looks perfect, nice staff, good wines and breath taking environment! Good wines, 7 wines, 50 rand pp. Not the cheapest but the one of the best. Unfortunately not been in the restaurant.. Worth visiting

I love the fact that the owners have kept the traditional look and feel of the wine farm yet been clever enough to modernize the necessary without being overpowering. Frightfully expensive

Visited the wine yard the second time after 2011 it was again a pleasure to do the wine tasting in their nice tasting room (even when this vintage was not one of their best). The whole wine yard is very stylish and everything is very well maintained - sometimes unbelievable that there is also wine produced on the area... Having... More

I visited the La Motte Museum and was well received by a very knowledgeable and friendly curator. I thoroughly enjoyed the Pierneef exhibition.

The food here is some of the best we had in South Africa. Presentation was superb with flavours to match - they obviously have a very clever, innovative chef. We had lunch on a cold winter's day and the open fire near our table made for a lovely, cosy atmosphere in the tastefully decorated room. Food, wines and service were... More
