We are fortunate to live close by and visit the reserve often. We have yearly access cards which makes visiting this awesome reserve extremely easy and cost effective. The reserve is very well maintained with picnic space and a restuarant. The plant and bird species...More

Helderberg Nature Reserve is a very popular place for the locals with many early birds doing a hike. The big old trees and expansive lawns make for a perfect picnic spot (no fires though!) for the whole family or a secluded romantic tucked away shelter....More

lovely and peaceful with a little coffee shop clean bathrooms and nature walks or hikes depending on what you want. Available for birthday parties or family get togethers or just spending time out in nature.

This is my favorite place to go hiking or trail running or bird watching in the Winelands. Peaceful and beautiful without bikes or dogs off leashes. Feel safe and comfortable. Crime not an issue.

Went for a day out...and we were amazed at the various fynbos that was in full bloom. Amazing. The place is ckean, well maintained and staff friendly. Perfect for a family.

They co-exist quite well, and are mutually beneficial! You do not have to use the restaurant if you do want to take your own picnic
