We found this a good intro to a game drive for young kids. Took a while to spot the wildlife but after the first sighting they were there in abundance.

We stayed over for the weekend and took two long drives through the park. It is South Africa's smallest National Park, though you get to see quite a few animals. We saw three different types of buck (seeing Bontebok up quite close), a secretary bird,...More

Well we had a lovely day weatherwise for the park and we did see some Bonteboks even quite close but there weren't many animals on view and certainky not a diverse range - shame. The difficult aspect was that the roads were at their worst...More

The smallest of our National Parks (I think), but what a real gem! Lovely and very comfortable, fully equipped accommodation. Can see the whole Park and it's game in one day. Very peaceful and tranquil, ideal stop-over for any nature lover.

We had the park to ourselves on an afternoon in May. It's small enough to drive the main park loop in two hours, which was perfect as we needed to be on our way on the Garden Route by mid-afternoon. We saw 8-10 zebra up...More

We visited Swellendam in 2009 but never bothered to visit this small national park This time, we spent a day here, getting several sightings of the Bontebok, Zebra and other rare animals.

Beautiful Bontebok, excellent birdlife, and the Breed River running through the park is a fantastic bonus. The campsites are very well appointed, one can catch fish and it is incredibly peaceful. A really great getaway.

When we visited three weeks ago that was not necessary. I don't know about now with the South African Xmas holidays, but would still think it is not necessary.
