The Holy Trinity Church is situated within the walls of the famous Berat Castle. Although it is closed, you may admire its beauty from the outside. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful Orthodox Churches in Albania, therefore it might be interesting to visit it. If you're in the Castle anyway, don't miss this church, it's worth a visit.

This Byzantine Church stands on the steep hillside of Berat castle rising above the town.
It's one of the best preserved in the area dating back to the 13 c, situated beneath the remains of the White Mosque. Views all around are terrific.
However, we found it closed and not able to visit, therefore 4 stars.

Beautiful ancient church looking very similar to the one in Ohrid. It is possible to visit the interior at no cost. It is small but nevertheless interesting. From there, you can have the best sunset views of Berat.

The location of the church is breathtaking. Steep stairs up and a great view. It is a must to see sight when visiting a Berat Castle. The church was closed when we were there, but we visited the National Iconographic Museum nearby, with great icons exibits. The museum is inside another old church so we fantasized being in Holy Trinity church.

Looking at this very proportional and nice rebuilt church, it is impossible not to notice that it is nicely integrated into the surroundings of the castle. Unfortunately, it's closed and we do not know what's inside.

Holy Trinity Church is located within the grounds of Berat Castle in the far western courtyard (you need to descent steps just to the left of the White Mosque). Built in the 14th century it still has some very old frescoes some of which are visible through the gate blocking the main entrance.

Dates to 14th century. Exterior is quite lovely but not an active church anymore. A peek inside shows some of the old painted frescoes. Worth the trip

Everything is said in the title, this is one of the nice buildings within the fortress. Should you walk around you can't miss it. Unfortunately closed.

Currently being restored by the Ministry of Culture it is closed to visitors. It is however in a great setting for photography.

It is pretty to see from far away but I would not suggest hiking up to visit this church. It is hard to see the church from close-up and the hike and view, albeit pretty, is not prettier than other potential spots (such as the gorgeous hike up the castle; a fairytale adventure). Also, the rocks are slightly slippy up there, so proceed with caution!
