Avenue in the center of Berat, right parallel to the river. Spacious, with many terraces and restaurants. Very pleasant to take a walk in the late afternoon. At night it is also very busy. The windows of the illuminated houses provide a beautiful setting.

I walked around here both during the day and at night. This is a wonderful community space, and is the type of space every town should strive to create. The restaurants available are many, but not varied or that memorable. Still, you will easily find something to satiate your hunger, or thirst.
I enjoyed watching the kids on the super fast bumper cars (way more intense than what you find in the US). Look for the lady with the old-school cobbled together cotton candy trolley.

The best boulevard for a stroll walk, on the left side there are trees and some benches, on the right there are restaurants and cafes. In front of you, you will see the iconic houses with windows of Berat. If you do not feel like going up the castle, this is a great place to spent time. But remember it is very short.

Here you can see the locals hanging out with their entire family plus their relatives. You'll also see vendors selling sunflower seeds, sour plums, popcorn and other snacks. It reminded me of my hometown in Iraqi Kurdistan.

A morning or evening stroll on and around Bulevardi Republika in the relaxed town of Berat, Albania is a must do. It had the green Lulishtja park on one side and many cafes and restaurants on the other. The Tomorr Mountain make a stunning backdrop. The perfect place for an Albanian "Xhiro"

The Republic blvd is set just beneath the Berat castle and Mangalem quarter, connecting them with new Berat part of town.
It stretches parallel to the river and a park and is a nice place to relax in one of many bars/restaurants along it after exploring the sites. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly people.

Nothing really special this pedestrian boulevard in the center of Berat. Anyway a nice long open tree lined boulevard, a place to have a stroll along and watch local people. It is along the river, one side with public spaces and a lot of benches, the other side is lined with cafes offering inside and outside seating. Good for viewing the hillside houses, the gorgeous Ottoman houses.
Apart from this there is a little to see - or do!

We enjoyed walking along the promenade of Berat. The day was sunny and lovely. The cafe's and restaurants alongside the promenade had all taken tables out and it we enjoyed sitting outside, eating pizza and drinking refreshing Albanian beer. Later on we enjoyed an ice-cream before we headed our way up to visit the castle.

Xiro-Xiro is the must people watching thing to do in Albania: In the evenings people get out and stroll up and down the Bulevards to chat, meet friedns, have a drink and more. Be part of it.
