Little confusing on the reviews as to how to arrange a tour so we traveled to Clovis with the intention of going to the Museum at the Chamber of Commerce. On the way, we swung by the studio to snap some pictures of the outside. As fate would have it, David Bigham (one the studio back up singers for Norman)... More

Norman Petty Studios is a time warp. This studio was where Buddy Holly recorded the vast majority of his music. It is exactly the way it was left after the "Rock and Roll" was recorded in the 50's.

Had a private, 1 hour tour of the place. Everything has been left as it was in the 50's. Really a cool place to see.

We had heard about this place from my husband's guitar teacher and we revised our itinerary and are we sure glad we did. Nobody could make you feel more welcome than Kenneth and Shirley Broad. They were friends of Norman and Vi Petty so lived the stories. They have preserved the place well and kept the instruments in working condition.... More

Visiting this studio was such a huge highlight of my trip through New Mexico. Kenneth gave me a tour and he spent an hour and a half with me! Hearing original playbacks from Buddy Holly's recordings through the original speakers in the studio just about brought me to tears. Kenneth also let me take as many photos as I wanted... More

Loved taking our kids there and found out Norman Petty and his wife were friends with my uncle. Fun stories.

This is a must for all you Rock'n Rollers. Especially Buddy Holly/Crickets and Roy Orbison fans. You have to pre-book with Mr.Kenneth Broad, and you must also see the council run museum down the road first, as well as eat at the Foxy drive-in, where Holly and the Crickets ate (as well as all that Lubbock has to offer on...
