We checked Trip Advisor for Top Things to Do in Gallup. Bill Malone came up as the number 1 thing, so we HAD to visit. We also had a Navaho rug and 2 Apache baskets we wanted someone to look at and tell ore about. Bill Malone himself was there. What a wonderful, soft spoken guy who obviously knows his... More

I really really wanted to shop here. We arrived on Sunday and it was closed understandably. I was opening to visit Monday morning before we hit the road. Unfortunately it didn't open until 10. Maybe on the way back. Can't lose that much time on the road waiting.

We travel through Gallup a lot and every time we visit Bill Malone's. He is a true soft spoken and knowledgeable gentleman. It seems that always we find something special. His store does not have the huge inventory of the bigger and more expensive trading posts but what is there is really nice. There is no hard pressure to sell... More

Today we stopped in at the Bill Malone Trading Post, recommended by Trip Advisor. We have an old Ganado Navajo rug and two Apache baskets we wanted to have Bill look at. He was a so gracious and unassuming. When I told him I had a Ganado rug and two Apache baskets in the car, he said. "Go get them."... More

Obviously Bill is experienced in obtaining and selling authentic Native American goods. His selection is varied. He offers very reasonable prices. My only negative was that the store is a bit dusty.

After visiting many of the stores in Gallup it was refreshing to visit this one as it was not overwhelmed with the turquoise jewellery you see everywhere. He has many other interesting items and a vast knowledge. He was happy to chat without being pushy. We bought a small handcarved stone frog made by Zuni for a very reasonable price.... More

We were very pleased to spend some time in Gallup talking with Bill Malone. He deals in very good Native American art and his most valuable commodity is his wealth of knowledge about all things Native American. We bought a few pieces of jewelry, just what we were looking for, and the next time I am seeking something special, I... More

Next time in Gallup, this is the first place I will go shopping. Quiet, unassuming man that gave us fair deals, We would have loved to spend more time visiting with him. I regret not buying more and some of his books! I believe a totally honest and knowledgeable man. Thanks Bill!

Yesterday we made a trip to Gallup to pick up a rug that Bill had sent out to be repaired. He had been hunting when we were in Gallup a couple of weeks ago so we couldn't see him then. You cannot spend any amount of time with Bill without learning from him about rugs, traders, Native American artist and... More
