On our drive through the Jimez Mountains we came across this dam and had to get out to explore. The sulfur smell was strong to you know they were from the springs. It is amazing the way it flows from the out of the cave...More

this was a very cool dam you could easily miss along side the road. We did not make the hike or climb the dam as we were on our way up to the falls. Wish we would have had more time. watch for traffic. People...More

This was both a highway stop, and a short-hike stop. It is truly a unique geologic structure, but being pressed for time we only stopped and took some pictures, we did not hike the area, but I will next visit.

I was here about a decade ago and I dont remember it being so beautiful. Layers and layers of minerals have depositted and made this formation. Hot water still bubbles from inside, making beautiful travertine dams. Definitely more impressive up close than from the road....More

On the side of the road - no walking necessary to get to it. You can see all there is to see in about 10 minutes (20 if you choose to climb around the back of the falls to see the origin of the water)
