Visited on the way to Santa Fe. This church is so inspiring and beautiful. The locals were working on the garden and getting it ready for Sunday.

This was to be one of the highlights of my NM trip. The website and the Taos Visitor Ctr said there was mass at10:00. Not so. Special events change their mass schedules and they don't post the changes on their website. Church was locked. Steady...More

Beautiful church. Excellent photo ops. Both Georgia O' Keefe and Ansel Adams worked here because of the light. Church is small and for most folks likely a 15-30 minute stop. If you're an artist or photographer, plan on a longer stay.

We stopped here on The Historic Trolley Tour. Our guide shared information on its construction and maintenance. We had time for outside photos. He pointed out items of significance such as a portrait of the Madonna with a baby bump.

While I didn't get to go in (both times visited were after closing), the building itself is absolutely beautiful. I had read up on some of the history prior to my trip. Seeing it in person was very satisfying. I love old old churches and...More

Seeing the church that inspired Georgia O'Keeffe and Ansel Adams was another not to be missed site in my mind. It's such a powerful reminder of what people of faith can do when they set their mind to it!!! As with all churches it's a...More

NO ONE, including militant atheists, should miss this church (Misiòn/Mission San Francisco de Asis/St. Francis of Assisi) 3-4? Miles south of the Plaza on east side of main road (Paseo del Pueblo [Sur]). Chatted with fellow tourists, one remarking "It looks like it grew out...More

We drove in through snow covered peaks from Las Vegas NM and stopped first at this church which is one of the oldest in the area! The church and grounds are well kept and very interesting historically and architecturally but the surrounding plaza is eclectic...More

It is very beautiful and we visited the site while Mass was being conducted. There isn't much to see around the church though. But the history is worth the stop.

Georgia O'Keefe and many other artists have painted this church. Interestingly, many from the back. Although I was familiar with her painting I didn't know it was a church.

No restrictions were given by our tour guide. Most of the people I saw were in pants, capris or shorts with a respectful top--t-shirt, pull-over, or jacket.

Easy parking at the back of the church (which is the street side) or go around the church (from either side) and park at the front of the church. I know seems confusing but it's not once you're there!
