An old fort, used to house troups in respionse to the Taos Pueblo uprising of the 19th century, restored and utilized now as a campus for SMU. Very interesting spot that also offers lectures which may be of interest to life-long learners.

We had the chance to explore this campus while they were preparing for upcoming summer classes. The fact that this a outpost from 1860 is even more amazing. A beautiful spot anytime of the year. Serene and scenic. A real must-see!

We have visited SMU in Taos on a number of occasions. During summer, they provide a fascinating lecture series for local and visitors alike on Tuesday evenings. Topics typically include information about the culture and lifestyle of the area's earliest residents. Always a fascinating evening!
