My friend and I (both in our 60s) went snowhoeing here for several hours. The trails are well marked and not steep. Go all the way to the end of the trail system to see the view. The yurts along the way were cozy and a welcome rest stop. The owners are friendly. The sign off the main road is... More

This was our first time cross country skiing, and while the terrain was a little tough for some of us, but everyone had a great time. The scenery is beautiful and the staff is friendly.

I've been here for cross country skiing and mountain biking. The vibe during the winter is a lot of fun, the geeky, tight-clothes-wearing nordic crowd with a lot of enthusiasm for playing in the snow. The day I biked here there was hardly anyone here and I had views of Wheeler Peak and back into Red River all to myself.... More

We went to this place on next day after Christmas, Plenty of snow to ski. Skis and trail pass were around 30 bucks for all day. We took the trail around 10 am and were back by 3 pm. The trails were well maintained and well directed. We all had an awesome experience. Will plan to visit this place again.

We skied several hours here. We loved the terrain. It was mostly gradual however there were plenty of uphills to get warmed up and several downhill stretches to get some speed. We were there days before Christmas and it was not that crowded especially compared to the nearby town of Red River. The trails were well marked. The staff was... More

Be ready to educate your family regarding yurts. A great hike to the top of the ski area. A cute little hideaway complete with bunk beds, wood burning stove, propane camp stove and lantern. Enjoy eating around the firepit or around the large dining room table inside. It's not really roughing it unless you aren't fond of outhouses.

My husband & I cross country skied for the very first time for him & the first time in 30 years for me. The snow was amazing, weather not too cold with the sun peeping out every once in a while. The trails were well groomed & scenery beautiful. Great exercise as well as an added bonus. Everyone was very... More

Beautiful area to learn how to ski cross country. The folks doing the day to day operations were just lovely. The small group classes were just right for someone like me who has never been on skis before. Bob was our instructor, he was great, really took the time with us newbies.

The trails were fun for cross country skiing and the views were great. Staff was friendly and the rental skis were adequate. It's worth a visit if you are in the area or want a nice day trip from Santa Fe or Albuquerque.

My friend and I went for the Christmas night luminaria trail and stayed in the Little John yurt. It was amazing. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. Snowshoeing through the luminarias at night in the snow was an magical as I'd heard it could be. The yurt was great too. Toasty warm with everything we needed. This is... More
