This is still the active Catholic church in Socorro. This is all the more exciting given that it was build in the early 1600s. I have always found this church to be a peaceful and serene spot. It is still lovely and well worth a...More

On our way from Albuquerque to White Sands National Monument we decided to visit the Old San Miguel Mission in Socorro. The church is very well maintained and looks beautiful. There is no admission fee for the church. There is ample parking nearby which is free.

This is a must see if traveling to Socorro. The Mission has been rebuilt but still has the rustic look and feel of the past.

This little church has been around since the 1600's! It has since and recently been remodeled and is beautiful!! Mass is held every Sunday at 8, 10 and Noon. The music is great and the masses are always full.

Restored church. Worth a 30 min visit. I think it maybe the tallest building in downtown Socorro. You can't miss it.

The mission is most likely the most beautiful building in Socorro. If possible, take the time to go inside. The view is particularly stunning from the balcony.
