The pictures completely drew us in to this unique community. Once we arrived, we paid $8 each and did not even get a tour, we had to self tour 2 rooms and watch a video. We were not allowed to even walk by any of...More

Don’t bother to spend your money at the visitor center; there is nothing there that you can’t learn online. All it is are a bunch of brochures, a video and some limited electrical and hydraulic equipment. The previous visitor center was boasting a real home...More

My worst experience in New Mexico trip. The visitor center is not a real visitor center, the young woman there showed no welcome and no interest at all. You will be asked to buy the tour ticket to tour the “visitor center” if you want...More

We were disappointed to learn at the visitor center that we would not be able to see a functioning Earthship home because all 70+ homes are being lived in. If you really would like to see a home, I would recommend doing a search on...More

What an unusual place. Enjoyed seeing the buildings built out of trash like bottles, tires, aluminum cans and other reused materials. I will always remember the guides comments on why do we use fresh, clean water to flush our toilets. Why not use gray water.

This is a wonderful example of how we all should be living, although I must admit that when we drove by them the first time on our way to Taos I thought it was some eccentric people seeing how outlandish they could build structures. When...More

When we drove up into the Earthship Biotecture Visitor Center and a few homes/buildings were in our view, my 11 yr old son started yelling "oh my gosh!!" because he was so excited about the "science fiction like" structures. We enjoyed walking around the small...More

Worth a tour!!! If we had more time I would have taken the guided tour at 11 am. As it was we did the self-guided tour, which gave you a strong overview of their building concepts. Amazing.

The headquarters are about 2 miles past the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. As you come up the site, you will notice some very unusual looking homes (buildings). There is a welcome center which you can tour for $8 or you can just walk in the...More

Great and unique architecture but you can't drive through. There is a visitor center but it isn't an actual home. They charge admission to see a short movie and you can only walk around to see the outside of two structures. For the price of...More
