The most impressive part of this museum is fechin's woodwork which is so incredible it must be seen to be believed. His portraits of wife and daughter are also very beautiful and there are all exhibits of local artists on display as well.

Amazing viewing of Fechin’s work in his art and his house. The wood working detail he used to build his house was as impressive as his paintings. High recommend the tour.

Art Museum. is located in the artist house. Need to not only look at the art work, but the detailed wood work to the doors, furniture etc.

I did like this museum and viewing the art in his home was special. The artist was Russian painter and woodworker, Nicolai Fechin. He was quite skilled, so it was enjoyable viewing his work, although there wasn't a lot on display. They did have another...More

We went with no particular expectations and loved everything about this place. The house, built by Russian artist Fechin, is completely intact and features his carving and woodwork on nearly every surface. His art work is accomplished but it’s the woodwork where he really shines....More

Fechin, the painter was also an accomplished woodcarver who produced the interesting wood-carved furniture and interior of the historic house. The art we saw on display included a good number of Taos Art Society paintings as well as Fechin’s own work. Portraits were one of...More

We were not familiar with Nicolai Fechin but we really enjoyed visiting his home. He was an amazing artist and his hand carved interior woodworking is extremely impressive. The gallery also features a few other artists, and is a beautiful display. Two thumbs up!!

I would highly recommend spending time in this museum which in part is the house of a Russian who relocated to Taos in 1927- very intriguing and interesting. I toured the museum buildings and watched the film about the "original 7" artists that founded the...More
