This is a very belated review for our tour in August 2013. We had a very memorable 7 day trip from Joburg to Vic Falls and back with Livingstone Trails, and would recommend them for budget travellers. We had a relatively drama-free tour compared to old reviews. Apart from getting the van very stuck in the sand trying to get... More

White Afrikaner named "Jonny" came into my tent while I was sleeping, and asked me if I wanted to "play with him." I had made no overtures or hints that I was interested in this, and I was fast asleep. He would not leave until a few minutes later asking me if i was "sure" because we had the "same... More

I booked through another company who placed me with Livingstone Trails. Will not recommend or use again, which is too bad because I have some more travels through Africa planned later this year. Guides: Our first guide was a guy who drove us a few hours towards Kruger. He drove in a very unsafe way and was preoccupied in socializing... More

These folks at Livingstone Trails Budget Safaris are VERY AWARE of the fact that they subject not only their EMPLOYEES to dangerous situations but guests as well! Their drivers "David" and "Sydney" have been involved in accidents from falling asleep at the wheel and it was not until I returned home and read the reviews that I commented to my... More

I will start by saying that the Kruger Tour was great, but it is probably a much better idea to stay inside the park, and do the activities that the park can organize for you. Livingstone Trails stays 40 minutes outside the park, and only offers one night drive at an added cost. The 4 day tour only spends 2... More

Just returned after a 12 day Okavango Delta/Chobe/Vic Falls trip and had a great time. But there are some things I wish I knew before I went, so I decided to write a review. I was also a little freaked out by the reviews on here and had a hard time figuring out what was valid. I'll split it up... More

My husband and I just got back from a 10 day safari with Livingstone Trails. We had a fantastic time. I was concerned at first after reading some of the reviews, but it was better than I expected. The trip was exactly as advertised. Some of the negative reviews blamed Livingstone Trails for things that were not their responsiblilty. Passport... More

I actually went on this tour last May 2010 and had the most amazing time of my life. David was out tour guide. He made the trip what it was. The group I traveled with was fun and interesting as well. I think thats what made the whole experience. Everyone helped cleaning, cooking, dished, packing up, and unpacking together. When... More

I was unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident (the driver fell asleep) in a Livingstone Trails tour bus. Accidents do happen, but their response was terrible. It was over 6 hours after the accident before any member of the company even tried to track the passengers from the accident, and even then, it was the understandably traumatised driver... More
