Kubu Island is a rocky outcrop in the midst of a vast expanse of salt pans. We camped there for one night on our way through to Maun. Be warned that there aren't any ablution facilities though.

Lekhubu Island, also known as Kubu Island, is a must see historical site in the Makgadikgadi Pans, administered by the Botswana National Museum. The 65km route from Letlakane needs a 4x4 and takes more than two hours through the Makgadikgadi Pans. We lost the route...More

Difficult to describe- you need to visit this when you are near. Long drive to reach the island itself and during driving you wonder if it would show up and be different from seen before since you are passing small salt pans, drive through sand,...More

Call Kubu Island Community Trust on +267 75494669, they will take your booking and advise you of the details. I think you won't need to collect the booking itself, they will tell the people at Kubu but confirm with them.
