Quick stop maybe an hour

We stopped in here cause it’s only 5 min from the roebles bridge and Zane gray house. They have nice walking trails an interpretive center and bathrooms. They have a huge pavilion If it rains at your campground come here with the group and hang out. It’s close to all the campgrounds.

Drizzly but charming and a clear story was told

It was afternoon and we were borderline tired. Minisink was our last planned stop for the day. I had to see it because I had grown up a member of the Minnisink Swim Club (just a pool) in Chatham NJ. I was not disappointed in the least. We trekked all over the battlefield and read it all. What a great story! It was absorbing and compelling. Enjoy! and enjoy the walks through the woods.

Local History

You can imagine the battle as you walk around the rock formations and look through the forest. If you try hard, you can feel the fear the Patriots felt when trapped. There are no guides in the park but the writings tell the story as you travel throughout. These warriors and soldiers are long dead, but we should never forget their courage and the ideals they fought to create.

Interesting History

Easy walk and manicured park with history we did not even know about. It was not far from our B&B and was a nice stop.

It's just a park
Oct. 2016 • Family
It's a lovely park, but it's just a park. We were hoping to get some history of the area, but there are literally just a few pieces of the tale hanging on the wall. The trails looked well appointed but if you are looking for more than just walking trails, that isn't here. The pictures below are literally all the history you will get. The views in the area are wonderful, and I'm glad we took the trip, but we drove over 30 minutes and were disappointed when we arrived.

Short introduction to local history
Aug. 2016 • Couples
While the park is a great place to commune with nature and hike in the woods, I appreciate the interesting and educational history displays about the battle of Minisink. Places like this and the nearby Roebling bridge provide a depth and perspective to American history..
