Nice drive in the state park. Was negative 8 degree C when I drive along the park, and was easy for me (not a winter driver). Worth the time and effort and finish the entire route within 30 mins with stop-over along the way to...More

If you are noisy & inconsiderate, and like a place with no rules enforcement, then this is the place for you. We stayed at Beaver Pond Campground. Although no where near up to Minnesota State Park standards, not a bad campground, just too full of inconsiderate...More

Decent campground. Nice beach and playground. Bathrooms were clean. Campsites were ok. Beautiful area. But why the heck does half of Mexico go up here on weekends? I didn't notice any hooliganism myself, but the sheer number of people was ridiculous. Why do they all...More

A beautiful idyllic place during the week, so much nature and open spaces, on summer weekends it becomes a big NYC escape, so it's crowded and loud, boom boxes blasting, kids screaming, parking lots filling. The spring/winter and fall are easier on the weekends, hike...More

The top of Perkins is the Bear Mountain Peak. Better to hike up MW, and some nice challenges. I would not want to hike down MW. Once at the top, take the AT trail heading back to the INN (east). We got lost, like many...More

Drive over to the visitors center on Seven Lakes drive. There are many places to stop and walk around, and during Mon-Fri can be quite empty. Welch Lake is very busy.
