Park upkeep has gone downhill. Have been here many times before. Maintanence and garbage removal not being kept up. Many animals missing from the Zoo area.

Bear Mountain was a great place to visit and plan some hiking. I visited for an overnight stay with friends. We hiked two trails (Bear Mountain loop and Pine Swamp Loop), both were well-marked trails with moderate traffic.

Its one of my favorite picnic spots in upstate NY. Must visit if you are looking for a day trip. Do visit the watch tower as well, which is few mins drive from the park.

Not too muddy but it can be too slippery. Lots of big rocks to climb up and down and it can get very slick after a rain.
