We took the Bear Mountain Cruise to visit the state park. We departed at 9:00 and returned at 5:30. The park was brilliant with all the fall colors and I was a busy taking lots of pictures. We stopped at the Inn and had a coffee.

We went up to Bear Mountain for a day trip to see the fall colors. The mountain and lakeside were beautiful. We waked around Hessian Lake, counter-clockwise. The walk is probably about a mile and a half and not very hilly other than one small section. It is a breezy stroll. There was a concession stand at the beginning of... More

The park is a great place to see some stunning examples of the fall colors. The observation point at the top of the mountain gives some amazing views. Wear comfortable shoes as it involves a lot of walking and hills.

Came for the day with a group of 9 people. So fun! We hiked the 3.9 mile loop, rode the marry-go-round and played just sat and enjoyed our beautiful surroundings while eating lunch. $10 for parking & $1 to ride the Merry-go-round. Great day trip (or overnight trip) for any age. Affordable and fun!

Its state park. When you cross the last bridge and take right there is a park starts. Very high slop for hiking. Around 45 minutes to 1 hour of hiking then you get the view. It will clearly give you feeling like you are at the top of the world.

It took us 2 hours to drive from Brooklyn to Blue Mountain. There was a hiking route providing good exercise for the whole family and stunning views of fall leaves on the way and a beautiful lake at the bottom. We had a relaxed and breezy picnic lunch by the lake, enjoying the homemade food we brought and the beautiful... More

I went here on a Sunday and was shocked at how many families were there. The day was cool and very windy but it was crowded. The trails I chose were paved and beautiful. The fall colors were at peak. Even with the crowds every was courteous yielding the pedestrian right of way. The scenerywas superb!

It has been years since we have been to Bear Mountain State Park and I can honestly say I will NEVER GO BACK!! The park was very nice to walk around but it is a problem when you are in a state park and "NO ONE" speaks english. When I feel uncomfortable in a surrounding where I am the only... More
