Fishing is great, a lot of the cottages are great around the lake. Watch out for that Prospect Point, management is unreal! They have boat and plane rentals, an art center & more. Just a great place over all! My family and I love it...More

Twenty-one years ago I said I would never hike Blue Mountain again. Now at the age of 61, I can't wait to do it again next fall. It's a strenuous hike. Steep and you walk on lots of rocks. You should be in good physical...More

This was a good but strenuous hike. The view from the fire tower is worth the hike for sure. The dog loved it too! Do note the weather. As recommended we went after a dry day but had an unexpected downpour for the last hour...More

We did not know anything about this trail and were attracted by its short length, 2.0 miles. Expecting a short and easy hike, we did not take any water with us, nor any food. It was foolish since we had two kids with us, ages...More

I climbed (with snowshoes) this peak several times in the winter when I was stationed at the now-defunct Griffiss AFB in the mid-70's. Each time was a challenge, since the weather invariably turned nasty the closer we'd get to the summit! Coming back down was...More

This is rated an "intermediate/advanced" level trail. For the climb up there isn't anything I'd consider technical. People not used to climbing might have a little trouble on the way down. What makes this hard is the sheer vertical climb in a relatively short distance....More

One of the more accessible and visited of the Adirondack Peak. Although it's not one of the "High Peaks" it is a very worthwhile hike. Be prepared for lots of company on the trail though. Start out early in the morning to avoid some of...More

It took us about 1 1/2 hours to reach the summit. The trail was very well-maintained and not too crowded. The fire tower at the top has an amazing 360 degree view of the mountains including the high peaks. If you keep walking past the...More

I wanted a great hike and I got just that. Beautiful trail and not too treacherous. Bring water and wear proper hiking shoes. I wore flip flops and that turned out to be disastrous. I know, I'm an idiot!

Came here with family (ages 6 - 60) of differing fitness levels today. We started at the bottom and climbed up. As others have said it is a lovely forest trail beside a mountain steam. Views along the way and at the top were splendid....More
