It was a small local ski area that also had a following from skier from the Erie and Clevaland areas. It's location in the middle of the Lake Erie snow belt make skiing in April not uncommon. The chalet had been built for the New York Worlds Fair and moved to the site in the 1960's. You can still see... More

This was the greatest place to ski with a family with teens and small children. Skiing at a larger resort now and truly miss the family feel of Cockaigne. Was a great place to learn and spend time with family and friends. Think next to the slopes, I miss the closing weekend events and the fireplace most.

Cockaigne has been a part of cherry creek history for generations, unfortunately it has burned to the ground and is no longer there. Like many things in this small town, Cockaigne is but a memory of a childhood at play

I was so sad to see the empty spot where the lodge used to stand as I looked up at the slopes on that sunny Sunday morning. I have great memories of learning to ski with the Pine... More

FYI to Trip Advisor fans,...Cockaigne, one of Chautauqua County's landmarks burned and has closed. It was one of the ongoing Mom and Pop businesses still managing to survive. Thanks to the owners for all their years of service. YOU ARE MISSED! <3

There is nothing special about Cockaigne other then it is a great place to learn how to ski with young children. It is not a resort, but the peole that live in the area loved to have it as it was a close place that did not break the bank. Sadly, the resort burned down this past year. At this... More
