Really cool place. Like a smaller version of Niagara falls! There is a walk path were you can sit and watch and listen to the falls, during rainstorm the rush of the water is awesome to watch.

I have lived in the Capital District for 40 plus years but hadn't been to the Cohoes Falls until moving closer. I was quite surprised with the beauty and history of the Cohoes area including the adjacent Mohawk Hudson Bike Trail. The falls are best...More

Convenient parking in lot across street. We took the whole family from ages 7 to 77. Good informational posters explain the significance of the falls. Easy walk to see view of falls from top, then 86 steps down the steep trail to see where the...More

Park across the street in the small parking lot and then follow the bridge over the sluiceway to the little park. From there you get a fantastic view of the Cohoes Falls. At sunset the falls get lit up nicely for photography.

Beautiful views, water flows strongest in spring or after heavy rains. Fall foliage is beautiful as well. Great place to visit a time of year.

Take every opportunity you can to see these gorgeous falls. Very hard to find, even with directions, but so worth the effort.

Route 9 is the long way. Take I787 north from Albany to Cohoes. When it ends at Route 32, go straignt through the light onto Mohawk Street. Continue on Mohawk for about 3/4 mile. You will see signs for the falls overlook... More
