This gem is situated close to foundry cove and contains a wealth of information on what the foundry produced and what life was like during the foundry's active years. Couple this with the excellent temporary exhibits and you have a couple of very entertaining hours immersed in Cold Spring history.

I went expecting to learn more about the Foundry Preserve, and while there is an excellent exhibit on the foundry, I also found an incredible exhibit on the modern residential architecture of the Hudson River Valley which was amazing. The museum is modern, well-lit and very friendly and welcoming. My... More

Lots of interesting exhibits on the history of the Cold Spring area, the foundry etc. The kids didn't want to read each exhibit but found the photos interesting. Nice to do on a rainy day.

We got there, and there was a sign on the door that said it was open, and then a little sticky note stuck to that, saying... More

For those who tour the world, or even just New York City, this is a very small, seemingly insignificant museum. But Putnam County is an area full of interesting history from the Revolutionary War onward. Every year this museum features some aspects of this history with excellent exhibits. It also features occasional lectures or presentations. The little bookstore has local... More
