I you have the chance, stop here. This old English manor was one the seat of a vast baronial estate. Interesting history and wonderful grounds to walk around.

While tours and the building are closed during winter you can still walk the grounds and read the history on the posted markers and signs. Some say it's haunted but we did not have any strange experiences except a cat in a building near the...More

We had an excellent tour, the guide did a wonderful job keeping our 3 year old's interest (though she is naturally curious and interested in these sorts of places) while still providing an excellent tour for the adults in our group. You learn a lot...More

A treat for those interested in architecture, history, the decorative arts. Our guide was a graduate student doing research at Fenimore HOuse. He was very informative and interesting.

Went with my husband was a cold day so perfect for a tour. The house was very interesting and the tour informative. The grounds were beautiful as was the view of the lake.

This was a good way to spend an hour. The house evokes similar (but much grander) country homes in England (which the design was based on) but a definite American slant to it. The guides clearly love the property, and the State continues to invest...More

This is absolute must-visit site. Hyde Hall is steeped in history including being the site of the founding of the Girls Scouts. Also, several US Presidents have visited the home. The quality of historic preservation work is outstanding as well.
