Graycliff, Frank Lloyd Wright's design for Isabelle and Darwin Martin's summer "cottage" overlooks Lake Erie in the Darby section of Buffalo, Ny. We were pleased with the in-depth tour led by a FLW scholar sharing restoration stories about the house and tid bits of FLW's...More

Graycliff is one of those places that misses its own unique charm and aspires to be something else, namely it's better funded and more important neighbor in Buffalo, the Darwin Martin House. Graycliff is a complete wreck just at the beginning of restoration. It was...More

The tour is very interesting and the grounds are very beautiful. The house has a lot of neat components but is actively being renovated. I think the house will become even more interesting once renovations are complete.

It is a beautiful property although the house remains "a work in progress". The day would have been better had we not been lead by a snotty & officious tour guide. It simply didn't occur to me to let a patient die in order to...More

We returned to Greycliff this year five years after our last visit and more than fifteen since our first visit. The restoration progress has been enormous, and the site is now ready for the prime-time, both for the FLW aficianado and the casual historic preservationist....More

We enjoyed the 2 hour tour with a very passionate docent that helped us envision the house when it was occupied by the original owner, Mrs. Martin. Much restoration is yet to come but the quality of Frank Lloyd Wright's work is apparent. We opted...More

Views of the lake and grounds are exceptional. Restoration work on the interior of the house is ongoing, so don't expect to see it as it was and hopefully will be once the work is completed. Guides are knowledgeable giving added insight, background and history...More
