Long Island beach in Queens borough that can be reached by subway. Popular destination for New Yorkers in mid-20th century, still pleasant to visit.

My wife and I scouted this out in advance before bringing the teens from the hotel. It is just a beach and not much more - nothing except some sports facilities. On a Monday morning looked like a ghost town, so instead we went to...More

The beach is exceptionally clean; beautiful boardwalk; and a great outing for a day. You can drive to the beach by car or hop on a subway. Very convenient.
