Got over there in October 2018. Beautiful Sunday at Bethpage. Got lucky with tee time true internet on the Black course. Yes, you can get there early and pick up a number for you to access the registration office. Trouble is at every corner so...More
This is an annual pilgrimage with my buddies from New Hampshire to Long Island, and it is absolutely worth it. I will have played the Black Course 4 times and feel like a kid on Christmas morning prepping for this trip every fall. Golf course...More
A challenging but fair course set up with tons of elevation change and massive bunkers to navigate. The greens are large and generally flat but in almost perfect shape despite how much play they get. Every hole is different and there were so many memorable...More

There are very clear signs in the main building, one reads Walk Ups Enter Here and the other line is Reservations Enter Here. There are signs behind the people taking tee times that list all the courses and the openings they have that day that are continuously updated. When we were there, there were plenty of times available on all the courses, even Black. Proof of handicap not required.
You can also use their phone system to register so you can reserve a few days in advance but I"m not sure how that works for non US residents. As a single though, you should have no problem getting on.
