This is located just minutes from downtown, and easily accessible. The museum was formerly the residence of the Hyde family, who completed construction of this Florentine Renaissance style home in the early 20th Century. Since it was first opened to the public, it’s expanded into an adjoining similar-style home. When my fiancée and I arrived, the current exhibition was on... More

This is a small museum but the selection of art is excellent. The homelike atmosphere with art huge throughout the building was enchanting. The docents or security staff were helpful and information as well. Some of the paintings are small but you can appreciate them as additions to living home. Although I love art museums, many of them are so... More

If you are in the area, this is a must see. Truly a place of treasures and an ever changing amount of "show" pieces. Anything from the Masters to the local talent. Love this place.

What a surprise to find a museum of this quality in such a small town! The Hydes collected at least one of all the greatest old masters and continued through the 19th and into the 20th centuries with equally great paintings. The Rembrandt is not to be missed. Their special exhibits are of exceptional quality.

Who knew there were Rembrandts and other magnificent works in Glens Falls? There are gasp-inspiring pieces here, woodcut carvings, etchings, sketches, and dry point, many with extraordinary detail for which there are handy magnifying glasses to borrow. Admission is free, one Sunday a month. Park in what appears to be the second building over unless you need handicapped parking, which... More

Went a few month back and what an amazing place for around here. Hard to believe when you see the building that it is so big inside and the huge names in art that are in there. A must see.

They have just expanded and under their new director they are really taking off. Even if you think you are not a fan of museums check this place out. Local connections are made to great art. This is the perfect thing to do if you are in Glens Falls or anywhere within a 100 mile radius of this incredible collection.

The three daughters of a local paper manufacturer had three adjoining beautiful homes built for them by their father - and next door to the mill so they would not forget where it came from. The Hyde's collection of classic paintings is worth the visit. It is a gem.

We had heard about the Hyde for years. Now that we are seniors, we put it on our list to go on a Wednesday when it's free for seniors. What a great small collection! While the setting (the family home of the owners of the paper mill it overlooks) may not provide the ideal setting for showing off the paintings,... More

Very nice art collection in historic home. Cannot miss this when visiting Glens Falls, NY. The collection includes Picasso, Rembrandt, Winslow Homer and there is always a temporary exhibit.
