Avoid it during the day on weekends. Visit weekdays or early in the day. Beautiful walk to the lower falls, but be careful on the road walk. The new walkway and viewing platform at the upper end is fantastic.....but stay behind the safety fence.

This site has been over run. There are lots of folks endangering themselves by ignoring signs to stay out of the stream. The EMTs are up there almost every weekend. Frequently for fatalities. It's a damn shame that folks are promoting this spot. What was...More

There is a parking lot off of Laurel House Road which is above the falls. From there it is a short (.2 miles) walk to the Falls Viewing Platform and a short (.7 mile) hike down to the lower falls which gets you right to...More

The state of New York keeps making this place better and better. 2 years ago the only access to the falls was parking on a busy narrow road, walking on the busy narrow road and hopping the guard rail. Now you can park in a...More

We drove up to the new trail going up to Kaaterskill Falls last weekend. The water was pretty high, and we were able to see the streams and the falls from several vantage points. We walked from the Mountain Top Historical Society right to the...More

I went in August and again in September The water was cold both times but it was tolerable when I went in the beginning of August. Definitely go after there's been some rain so that the falls are at their best!!
