I enjoyed my visit to this surprisingly large collection of aircraft and artifacts. Clearly the place has remained a labor of love for several generations of Curtiss enthusiasts. My only regret is that there wasn’t a brief overview of his life and work near the...More

Museum Educator Makenzie Witter gave our small group a wonderful tour of the Curtiss Museum. We first viewed some of the film, which focused us on Curtiss as an aviation pioneer who had a rivalry with the Wright Brothers. That helped us appreciate the chronology...More

This museum covers the history of Glenn Curtiss from his start with bicycles to motorcycles to airplanes. Lots of original and reproduction examples of his work. Lots of other history shown including cars and boats. Can also visit work area of volunteers recreating Curtiss airplanes.

This was our second trip to the museum, six years apart. We are an aviation family, and we love this museum..we love the info, the personal touches, and the nod to the local wine industry. Take the time to visit this museum. It's awesome!

The Wright Brothers and Kitty Hawk always come to mind when the subject is the birth of aviation. Who knew what a big roll Curtis and the Hammondsport, NY area played in the early days of aviation. Come, see, learn!

The Glenn Curtiss Museum is far more than an aviation museum. While its attraction may be the life and achievements of Glenn Curtiss and his contributions to the evolution of the aircraft for both commercial and military uses, it brings to life the era in...More

A great museum! Some of the items in the museum include bicycles, motorcycles and airplanes. In addition, some history of Hammondsport is included. The only reason this is not 5 stars is that some organizing of materials is needed yet.
