After a nice and hot walk to the site, you are just stunned by the silence, beauty and ages the site has been through. Worth the walk and trip to get there, just magic as well

Sossusvlei was certainly the highlight of our holiday in Namibia. It looks like another planet, feels a bit like being on Mars I guess! Make sure you are in front of the gates when it opens, or that you are one of the lucky ones...More

Very challenging driving in deep sand. Trek over sand is not for mobility challenged - bring water& go early. But photos are worth it!

We arrived in the dunes early in the morning, at about 06.45 am. We followed the path with our 4x4 car till the end of the road and climbed the highest dunes. What an adventure. This was amazing and we enjoyed it very much.

How can sand and dead trees be so gorgeous? Take the time and climb the dune known as “Big Daddy”. It will take about an hour and is challengingly, but wow, is it worth it once you get to the top.

Yes, you have seen this on a lot of pics - but none of them can describe how it feels to climb the highest dune and to experience the magic of the desert. To watch the black trees in the nearly white sand... what a...More

Photographers paradise and probably the most photographed place in Namibia. Stay at Sesriem Campsite and leave for Sossusvlei before sunrise to catch the golden light. Allow an hour to get there. If you have a 4X4 with some sand driving experience, stay there for the...More

I agree about Swakopmund. It's a must. The roads from Swakop to Sossos is at the moment very bad, but to get there, you have to travel on the dirt, so be very careful. Book ahead of time otherwise you will be in trouble... More
