this is a nicely renovated original train depot in Hornell. The train museum is small, but run by some very knowledgeable train enthusiasts...nice for family.

The town of Hornell established this museum in 2005 and it obviously serves a local need, with some interesting exhibits about the Erie Railroad and the town itself. It is worth spending a half hour learning a bit about small town America.

Fascinating to see how this area grew because of these iron beasts. The railroad's importance is underplayed in this country and this small museum holds some big information in its cases of memorabilia.

This is a young museum that is (or should be) still adding to its collection. Its location in the old Hornell Erie RR station helps to give it the right atmosphere. I'll stop in from time to time to see how the museum is progressing.

Never mind the unfinished items of non matching items. The railroad related memories thereaare excellent examples of the Era of when the railroad ruled the area and supported the town.
