At the great cave of the Northeast, an elevator takes you 156’below ground. The doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern 6,000,000 years in the making! Trained tour guides help negotiate the cave and teach about its magnificent natural features. Back on the surface, mine for gemstones at Howe Caverns Mining Co. Beginning summer 2011, enjoy the first phase of Howe High Adventures—featuring ropes courses, climbing walls, zip lines and more!

Very informative and cool (temperature and experience) tour! Our tour guide Jesse was friendly and full of knowledge about the caverns and geology. The Winding Way was my favorite part, my husband's was the boat ride.

I visited Howe Caverns recently and this is my 3rd trip there. I went when I was a child in the 70s, again with my two older children in the 90s and now with my two step children last weekend. The place is in extremely shabby condition. They haven't updated since my childhood it seems. The gift shop has duct... More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We just got off the phone with the 1960's to get our Motel back which has been completely renovated over the last year. The 1970's is our next phone call and we are in process of ordering new carpet! I am glad you enjoyed your tour and hope you come... More

It is a really cool story & they have a great thing going. Not sure that going a 2nd time would hardly be worth it, but at least I can say that I went. I have lived near the caverns for over 20 years & I had never gone to see the caverns. When my grade school son went with... More

We stayed overnight in a comfortable room and had a lovely breakfast overlooking beautiful hills of upstate New York. We then traveled the cave by foot and by boat. The cavern is amazing. Afterwards we conquered the ropes course and zip lines. These are fun but if you are a real adventurer they may be too easy. If you are... More

Decided to make the drive to see the caverns on a cold dreary day. This turned out to be a great idea. The staff was very knowledgeable and nice. Everything was clean and neat. Tried some fudge in the sweets shop and it was great!!! Cant wait to go back on a nice summer day. Seems there is lots more... More

We took my older teens there for a family outing while visiting my son at RPI. The kids bulked at first, didn't want to do "a nature outing." But they loved the cave! It really is spectacular, and our guide Nick made it a fun-for-all family experience.

A great place for kids and adults alike. Old world charm above and awesome cavern tours 150+ feet below ground. Great experience for the whole family at a very affordable price.

Very cool and very well organized trip into the caverns. We were traveling with a 3 year old and a 20 year old and both were amazed by the whole thing! Absolutely loved the boat ride inside the caverns, truly entertaining & educational :)
