My Husband and I took this trail off of 214 to the Fire Tower. This is not for children and is a tough climb--but worth it! The trail is well marked. I would take a look at the topography prior to starting so you are aware of what you are getting into. This is the steepest option of getting to... More

I was there in March and expected a much better condition to skiing. It is a small mountain with few slopes and not much parks. I heard that the snow condition this year was the worse in the past 35 years, so I would give another try. Was planning to stay there for 4 days but only skied 2 of... More

This is completely worth the money. We were confused between this and Poconos as both were equidistant for us. Glad we picked this, primary reason was cost. The beginners pkg (equipment rental + 90 min lessons) was $67pp here compared to $99pp at Poconos. I have been here 3 times already. TIP 1: Arrive early to enjoy more skiing. The... More

We visited Hunter Mountain during Octoberfest 2016 and had a great time. It has grown from the last time we went about 10 years ago. We did purchase the VIP pass which allowed us quick access to the chairlift, a T-Shirt and plastic boot with a refill of beer. The views were spectacular!! Be sure to give yourself enough time... The Sky Ride paired with October Fest is a great mix of super fall foliage, fun Fest music, good German beer and food. Less German than in previous years, but louder rock fans separated more from traditional German celebrations. Still the best chair left in the Fall.

Hunter has been my favorite ski area in the Catskills for over 40 years! You simply cannot beat the variety of terrain and some of the best Double-Black Diamond trails; not accessible by beginner and intermediate skiers. Thus, lift lines on the Z-lift are short, even on weekends. However, now that they have sold the area to Peak Resorts, changes... More

Loved our trip there for Labor Day Weekend. Stunning views. The Lift to the mountain is a must for everyone that goes here, and the burgers and icecream at Mama's Boy.

The $12 chairlift is a fantastic ride to the top of Hunter's Mountain, great views from the summit and on the way down. The ride is open weekends after Labor Day, and each chair can seat 3/4 people. It's lovely and quiet, and at the top you can spend as much time as you like, until 4pm when the last... More

Took the chair lift to the top of the mountain, once there you can hang out or walk the trails. For one price you can ride the chair lift up and down the mountain as many times as you like. The ride down the mountain is super special, amazing views of the surrounding mountains!!! Loved it! Make sure you walk... More
