Came here to see a production of The Legend of Sleepy Hallow. The theater is on the upper level and is nice. Stairs and elevator available to get in. The play itself was wonderfully performed.

It’s a small 300 seat auditorium so not a bad seat in the house. We don’t live locally but there was a community feel about the place and people were very friendly.
The place could do with a refurb probably but it’s quaintness is appealing. The gig we went to was great though. There are no bar or cloakroom facilities and it did seem to be run by volunteers, but they do a good job.

We attended concerts here as well as Broadway productions featuring local talent. The seating is good, and sound reaches everyone no matter the seats, but orchestra seats (a bit higher than the balcony prices) give audience members better viewing.

I attended a few rock shows at this venue and signed up for their emailing list. The shows were good, but I had some trouble with their staff, largely elderly volunteers, who are generally clueless about running a facility like this.

Twice, I got an email saying the tickets I purchased were to be honored for another date because the headliner had rescheduled. Problem was, I hadn't bought tickets for the shows in question, which caused me consternation, thinking my credit card had been hacked. The first time, I went into a near panic and called my CC company, who verified that indeed, everything was OK, and it was the theatre's fault. OK, fine, but then it happened again a few months later. Same story. What happened was, some ignorant person in their office sent a blanket email out to everybody on their list instead of just the ticket holders for those particular shows. Great, right? The lady's explanantion was, "I just get confused sometimes with all this email stuff." Then go home lady, and leave the work to a professional.

With that, I told her to take my name and email off their list and never contact me again. I haven't been back since and have no plans to do so. At least they got that right.

Finally, the facility itself is rather old, and the decor, seats, etc. inside the theatre are in serious need of redecorating, along with better acoustics, sound and lights. It looks a bit run down.

The Irvington Town Hall Theatre is a gem in the surroundings of a lower Hudson Valley rivertown. Productions include Broadway stars, musical acts and many theater groups. As well a film series. The theater is a twin to the famous Ford Theatre in Washington DC. Worth the trip, come for the production, come for the breathtaking views, come for the wonderful restaurants.

We just saw a production of "Hair" and it was first-rate. The theater itself has a quaint charm to it and the producers used its layout to bring the show to the audience. Seating was unusually tight (Broadway-style!) and the restroom facilities could be updated to accommodate more people during intermission. Newcomers should also be aware that the theater is on the third floor of a building that also houses the local police and a siren to signal emergencies in the area (you are actually told that the show will pause until the sirens stop!). Good restaurants in the area include Red Hat (French, faces the Hudson River) and Chutney Masala (Indian, window views of the Hudson).

It is always a pleasure to attend an event at the Irvington Town Hall Theater. It is cozy and beautiful, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house!

This community renovated theater sits atop the Irvington Village Hall. It has been excellently designed as a close copy of the Ford Theater in Washington, D.C. Shows are presented by a well experienced and professional local staff. You will need to follow local announcements of upcoming events. Well worth keeping in touch.
