Overrated. The part we enjoyed the most is the small room called "sound lab." It took us a long time to figure out how to get the equipment to play us various bird calls; the signage and instructions are not as good as I would...More

The setting is perfect for birding of almost any level. Pull up a comfy chair inside and watch the feeders (with their networked iPad installed next to the window running Merlin ID software), or cruise the trails around Sapsucker Pond for more diverse bird life...More

Definitely go here to hike the trails and check out the facility, but skip the behind the scenes tour. It was much longer than an hour and fairly boring. Your time is better spent reading the information plaques in the public areas, enjoying the artwork...More

Cornell Lab of Ornithology is a great nature area for an afternoon walk. Nice easy mulched trails, some with boardwalks and all with clear maps. Plenty of great opportunities for photography of nature and family. Inside the building there is a large glass viewing area...More

The Lab of O is a beautiful place to visit. It is located east of Ithaca ( and Cornell) in a little copse of woods on a beautiful pond. There are tours of the lab and the building which are really worthwhile. A great place...More

Cornell's lab is great -- volunteers need a day of seminar where one teaches how to talk/treat of out towners/staters ... I alerted the university staff of our visit but when arrived the volunteers knew nothing of my stopping by. Being not one to ruffle...More

The 'lab' itself is a comfortable complex with seating overlooking views of bird habitat and small pond. Very nice trail walk and always a variety of birds to see and hear. Highly recommended.

We attended one of the Saturday morning walks and the tour of the facility. Both guides were excellent (Lisa and Serena) and very polite. Would highly recommend

Large variety of trails here, nice places to sit and enjoy. So many birds here. When I hike other places we don't see any sign of animals/birds because the kids tramping through scares them away, but here we see and hear birds even with the...More
