While in Jamestown I visited this amazing shop. Lots of unique items. Lots of variety. Proprietor was friendly and we enjoyed talking to him. Found an unusual gift for my sister who collects laxative containers. (of all things!) My friend found some vintage jewelry. Shop is on the 2nd floor of an old building. The proprietor graciously let me ride up in the freight elevator. Part of the shop was accessible with my electric scooter. Plenty to see in the Emporium. Don't miss it!

Very nice little gallery. They do change things up with different exhibits. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Easy to walk or drive by without noticing. A little hidden gem. Definitely worth a stop and up a few flights to visit.

I regularly attend gallery receptions and browse the emporium, and the Dykeman Young never disappoints. The gallery exhibitions offer a diverse array of quality artwork, typically from local artists, and often support various organizations in the community. In addition, shows such as the current (as of this writing) "Celebrating 65 Years of Laughter," which displays memorabilia from the Lucy Desi Museum collection, bring guests up-close-and-personal to an impressive collection of artifacts.
The emporium shop is simply one of the nicest antique/vintage stores I have ever visited -- and I have been antiquing all over the country for many years. The owner has an excellent eye for presentation of the beautiful, high-quality merchandise, making the shop almost look like a museum itself. When I step inside, I could swear I am in an upscale boutique shop in a big city, not in a small town like Jamestown. Even still, there is something for every budget here.
Exhibits and merchandise are rotated regularly, so there will always be something new to see each visit.

This is one of those places that you just love to visit. Interesting stuff, often special exhibitions, friendly staff and good prices. This is a great stop on a visit to Jamestown. You do not need hours. The place is not that big, but its worth your time.

The is such a unique and nostalgic shop! It has many one of a kind items used in film and TV. It is extremely organized and clean. The vintage items are in great shape. It's rich in style from house to fabric to clothing to jewelry to fun trinkets. There's something for everybody! Plan on spending some time looking around because it's just so interesting. The owner is easy to talk with and is very informative from his collection to local knowledge as well as the Calorfornia style. Truly unique and a must for Jamestown 'must have' seekers. Upstairs is a gallery with monthly exhibits which stretch the limits of subject matter. It's nice to see such a historical building, clean and simple.

This gallery is one of Jamestown's best kept secrets. Displays change but are always interesting. It's not large, but it's definitely worth visiting. Just hope the elevator's working, or you're in for a hike!

When you walk into the emporium.. You don't expect to see the true treasure they have in there. And the gallery .. You never know ahead of time to what will be there. It definitely has a WOW factor.

What a delightful addition to Jamestown, NY! I second everything the previous poster said! I love that this gallery promotes local artists and community service organizations. There’s not much more to add, other than the suggestion that you visit often because there’s always something new in the exhibits and the vintage shop. Take home an affordably-priced piece of history!

When you discover a gem, in the most unlikely of places, you want to tell the world!
At least that's what I want to do....along with buying every last item in the Emporium!
The Gallery, on the third floor, is a lovely space. They host a constantly changing and always interesting group of artists, both local and international. They have also displayed exhibitions of vintage movie costumes and most recently a never before seen collection of art and furniture etc owned by Lucille Ball.
I always stop in to see what the gallery has to offer....but truth be told what keeps me coming back again and again is the Emporium. It's a wonder of Vintage goods, jewelry, clothing, household items and much, much more....I almost always leave with some treasure...and at a very reasonable price.
It is the first place I bring all my out of town guests...and they love it as much as I do.

You might want to call (716-483-5772) as they may not be open all the time. The exhibit I saw was open 1-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
