Visited here on a joint ticket between the national museum and memorial park. Need about an hour in total to see it and read about the history of all that Sobusha II did for the nation in it's transition to an independent state.

The memorial garden for the late King Sobusha has a lot of features that can take some time to identify and understand if you have a good guide. The Museum also has interesting information especially on the british administration and the transition to democracy.

This is a small area/park. You will really need a guide to tell you the background of the kings. The building with the cars and photos was nice. You can walk right up to the cars and peer inside them. Swaziland has an interesting history so a guide is important in order to get that information.

Our very hospitable guide warmly explained the vibrant history of eSwatini and shared wonderful insights into the life of the much-loved king. A well cared for site full of interesting information and up-close views of the late King's car collection

The memorial garden consists of a number of features, eg entrance, museum, catafulque, the torch, memorial, the palm trees and the pond and three stones. The museum depicts a well documented and detailed chronology of the kings life and happenings in Swaziland as well as a small statue and some cars. The catafulque, the glass structure where the king's body lay in state, is considered sacred and may not be photographed as myth has it that part of his spirit is still there and needs to be protected. The catafulque is guarded by a member of the Royal guard at all times in all weather conditions. The torch in the centre of the park is in a bowl, supported on 3 battle axes The statue in his honour is a present from China and is well done and in detail. The statue faces east in accordance with tradition, has lion statues and the king's motto, "Ï have no enemy". The palms depict the king's favourite trees and the pond represents the natural beauty of Swaziland and the three rocks signify PEACE, LOVE and STABILITY.
