Seems like this attraction is being confused with the canal Discovery Center there is a separate Niagara County Historical Center and it is in a converted home in a residential area. It's small but it's cute and there is some decent information about the area...More

This is a great adaptation of a historic building in the downtown area with personable volunteers and an interesting story represented through the exhibits. The building includes the visitors' center as well. I enjoyed the visit.

There are five buildings that you wonder through, each with its own theme. We were given a self guided map that you return on your way out: be careful because the map needs updating and you will find yourself in front of locked passage ways....More

We actually only visited the Erie Canal Discovery Center, which is but one part of the larger History Center. If you're interested in the Erie Canal and the circumstances surrounding its construction, you'll likely be content to explore this well-conceived and nicely implemented exhibit area.
