The guides here are so knowledgable and helpful. There is much more to see and do than just tour the home and grounds. Many times of the year they have special events, such as civil war reinactments, and they have "Christmas with Almanzo" in December.

Fun, funny, insightful guides who thoroughly enjoy what they're doing - and the enthusiasm is infectious. Even if you've not read LIW's book "Farm Boy," the homestead serves as a window into the lives of America's homesteaders and early citizens. The house (original) and the...More

I have long been a fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder, and I have visited DeSmet, SD, and Mansfield, MO, but had never toured the Almanzo Wilder home in Malone, NY, until last weekend. It's a beautiful spot with a great, informative staff, and the tour...More

The tour did not take long at all and our guide was very informative and answered so many questions from just the 4 of us on the tour (last of the day). I wouldn't like to have gone on my own and missed so much history and... More
