I've been going there all my life and it has come a long way. There is now a water park for kids in addition to the playground. Less packed than Jones Beach but does get very crowded on the weekends in the summer.

A pleasant, relaxing day at the beach. It is possible to enjoy the beach without loud blaring radios and wild antics on the beach. The beach area is well maintained and clean.

For the amount of taxes and beach charges for residents and non residents those beaches should be spotless. Instead of paying 50 kids to stand around give them some responsibility and let them do some weed pulling and cleaning so they could bring there families...More

You don't really need to go to the big ocean beaches especially if you have small children. This beach is right on the bay and has few if any waves. Great little place right on the Southshore.

My children and I have been coming to this beach since they were toddlers. The beach is clean, fairly small - as in you don't have to walk so far to get to the water, the life guards are friendly and helpful, and the overall...More

Unfortunately, no. The only loophole, though, is to have a resident in the car with you. He can show his ID and you'll receive the resident rate.

There is handicap access on both the bay and ocean sides. You would still need to park near the tunnel and go under the parkway to see the ocean but there are no stairs. There is a huge deck by the concessions that I assume... More
