This is a beautiful hike to the Hudson River , do not recommend this hike for young kids as the trail is steep and muddy and rocky , well worth the 4 mile hike for seasoned hikers be sure to bring bug spray in the spring bring a bathing suit and a fishing rod if you fish as there are deep holes to swim and fish be sure to bring lunch as this is wilderness country your 4 miles back in and 8 miles off the main highway

I feel like I was at " waldon Ponds". One with nature forever. If you want to forget about anything in our superficial lives, come here, and look, feel and breathe, complete transindentalism.

This is an easy hike for an experienced hiker. But the trail is narrow, swampy and wet in places and loaded with obstacles such as tree roots and rocks. This is not an old logging road into the woods, so those who can't handle a single track hike with some hills in spots should stay on easier trails. Cell service is also very spotty. The ledges are spectacular and the river is great for a swim at the end of the hike.

The trail map forgot to mention that this is 7 miles down a dirt road, so make sure you have a 4 wheel drive. After a good rain, this trail is certainly not "easy" - moderate at best is a good description. Its muddy & uneven surfaces could easily result in slippages. I would go again, but in a larger group. Its extremely remote - if something happens/emergency, you can forget about calling for help - you'll be lucky if there's anyone else on the trail!
