I was a bit disappointed with this state park, there are other NYS parks that are a bit nicer in my opinion and with a lot more trails...It was still beautiful though. It was a little difficult to know where the trails actually started. I ended up drive up the whole "road" to realize where the trails are. Granted I... More

The gorge trail was a beautiful walk, especially with the changing leaves. The bridges on the path are well numbered and there are no real decision points for you to take the wrong trail. We returned along the South Rim trail and after the initial ascent that was mostly flat, but there were no good viewpoints of the gorge. Be... More

We were staying in the area and just stumbled upon this park. It has hiking and waterfalls. Really nice scenery. They also have swimming during warmer seasons and when the water levels are higher. We were glad we stopped here. We really liked the cow sheds waterfall. Parking is $7. They have bathrooms by the parking area and at the... More

It is a very lovely hike. We didn't swim as the lake was closed due to a poor health quality count. There was a beautiful waterfall and plenty of green cover from the sun.

Beautiful park for a day visit and hike. Excellent picnic area and playground for kids. Challenging trails for a hike with steep stairs and sharp drop-offs but very rewarding views and a chance to get back to nature. Camping is available but facilities are limited. Huge convenience store has just opened across the road which will help supply campers. Swimming... More

My husband and I did a very nice slow-paced 5-hour hike in the Fillmore Glen State Park, the day before Labor Day 2016. This is the summary of the experience. ENTRANCE AND PARKING. The entrance is very difficult to find. We missed it twice. Be aware there is not any door, arch or proper sign. Only a relatively small brown... More

Fillmore Glen State Park can now be known as "Fill'er Up State Park" due to the addition of a massive gas station and convenience store complex directly across from the entrance and the camping loop of the park. This complex is massive - as big as a truck stop or service plaza on the Thruway. If you camp in sites... More

I'm a beginning hiker. I found the trails a bit challenging in some places. To get to the Gorge/South Rim trails, one must scale about 140 stone steps of varying height and width. The gorge trail was beautiful despite the lack of water; I plan to re-hike in the fall after some rain! The south rim trail was less picturesque... More
