I have been going here for years. However the experience I had this time was horrific. When I entered they charged us five dollars per person to enter. They also gave my sister a empty bag and told her she can't bring in her diaper bag for her kid they said you have to put everything you want in the bag. You are treated like potential THIEVES not like customers i get it they have people stealing but everyone does. When I go into shoprite Costco or walmart they dont go through my bags and I bet they loose way more money if you look at the ratio. They also charged me 9.99 a pound for the cherries that I picked that is completely insane. I have never seen such high prices in my life. They also said no sampling in the fields. To anyone reading this don't come here their not family friendly and their trying to nickel and dime you. If you go with a big family you will easily spend over 200 dollars go somewhere else you will have a better experience.

Hi Chaim, Thank you for taking the time to review our family owned and operated business. We appreciate your feedback. As costs increase throughout the Hudson Valley, the costs to our business also rise. In an effort to continue to provide the highest quality fruits and vegetables for picking, we have had to adjust our pricing. We apologize if you feel as though our pricing structure is unfair. Much time and consideration is spent in determining prices that are fair to our customers while also allowing us to pay our employees a living wage. Because theft is a significant issue at many pick your own farms, we do not allow outside bags into our fields. We would not liken the pick your own experience to that of a grocery trip to Walmart or Costco and if that is the kind of experience you were hoping to have, it is no great surprise that you did not enjoy your time with us. We hope you find a farm that better suits your expectations and needs.

Fabulous farm
Sep. 2020 • Solo
This was my first trip here and it was the best time, I came by myself and enjoyed it. I could have spent the entire day, I arrived around 2pm and left around 5. The $5 weekend charge per car was not bad as there is so much staff to assist from start to finish. The variety is so good for fruits and vegetables. I got some free plastic bags from the staff and I picked a variety of apples that cost me under $12. There is a pond, picnic area, goats, chickens, store with honey etc. tasty donuts, pumpkin pie and food if you are hungry, this place is large so even if you see a lot of cars in the queue it’s because they are paying to enter and going to park, there is allot of parking spaces and once you do the farm is so huge you always have allot of space to yourself without feeling its crowded. My favorite part was walking through the orchard and the variety of apples here, I absolutely loved it and will return here. Nice tractor ride too for kids and pumpkin patch. The views of the valley is spectacular with the fall foliage.

Didn't have the greatest impression for this grape picking experience from this orchard. First, we messaged the orchard on Friday, 09.11.20 asking if grape picking was available for Sunday, 09.13.20 and they replied yes. In addition, we even checked the site as well and it indicated yes as well. Upon our arrival Sunday morning at 10am, we noticed the board indicated grape picking very few available. We then asked why, the staff working there indicated that there was a deep freeze March/May, which killed half the crops. If this was the case, they could have been honest in the message sent indicating very few available for grape picking. We drove two hours to have just one handful after searching over an hour. Such a waste of time. Dishonesty by the company to get business!!!

Great tasting cider
Oct. 2019
Visited Lawrence a Farm on holiday with friends in October just when the apples were ready to be picked. We just had to do a bit of cider tasting and we were not disappointed , six varieties were sampled and I have to say it was hard to decide which ones to buy so we bought all of them and thoroughly enjoyed all of them.

Not worth the $
Sep. 2019 • Family
We went for apples and pumpkins. Both are overpriced here but you go for the experience anyways. What I find particularly annoying is they charge you just to visit, $5 per person. You get credit on $2 per bag but still. Then if you have the audacity to buy so much of there product that you need a wagon to get it to your car, they charge you for the wagon. So as my wife and 3 kids with their arms full are carrying over $100 worth of produce they could have bought for about $35 at the supermarket they are stopped in the parking lot so that an employee can make sure they've paid for what they're carrying. But wait, it's not enough to check the bags they paid for, they insist on searching my wife's purse which by the way is about 10 inches by about 7 inches. We called later to complain but they have no intention on changing anything

Hi KRRHV, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience at the farm and we appreciate your feedback. Great care and consideration goes into the determination of our prices for the year in an effort to be fair to to our customers and provide a living wage to our loyal and committed employees. As costs continue to rise throughout the Hudson Valley for business owners, we have had to adjust our pricing in order to continue providing the highest quality of fruits and vegetables and the Pick Your Own experience to our customers. We hope you had the opportunity to use your $2 produce credits you received for each paid admission on your produce and if you did spend $100 on produce, you should have received 10% off of your purchase. We, like many other businesses in the Hudson Valley have a bag check requirement upon entering the parking lot after being in the Pick Your Own areas. Our employees are instructed to check each bag, regardless of size in order to ensure that no unpaid produce or merchandise enters our parking lot. It is a universal policy, whether or not we believe you specifically stole anything. We hope you find a farm in the area that better suits your needs. If you’d like to discuss this further please give us a call at 845-562-4268 and ask to speak with an owner.

Apple picking Close to New York City
Aug. 2019 • Couples
Yes, apples are now available for picking just north of New York City. Last Thursday it was a glorious sunny day so my husband and I decided to drive one and a half hours north of Queens to beautiful Lawrence farms. To our delight six varieties of apples were available for picking as well as sweet corn, broccoli, zucchini, peaches, prunes, plums, nectarines and much more. How lucky we felt to arrive early in the season for the delicate zucchini flowers; Using my grandmothers Sicilian stuffed zucchini flower recipe that evening made for a memorable meal.

Please be sure to check their website for what is available for picking and for their reasonable entrance fees. Keep in mind this is a family owned working farm so if you pick it you bought it. The entrance fee covered parking, a wonderful petting farm, clean bathrooms, one piece of fruit per person for tasting, Picnic tables, a well with fresh water that was oh so cold and refreshing.

Rick and Jane the amiable proprietors of the farm were walking the fields answering questions, socializing with guests and giving great advice. They’re grown children also work the farm and were so warm and welcoming we too felt like family. The love and care that this family provided for the farm and it’s community is evident in the products produced and the content hard working staff they hired.
