Outstanding views of the whirlpool and class 6 rapids. The park allows for enjoyment in the green spaces and on the trails. Seems like a lot of buses with tourists come through, and the visitor center is closed for renovation. The parking lot is pretty large and allows for quite a few vehicles. No entry fee is charged.

Cool view and all but don’t really understand the whole whirlpool thing. It’s kinda to big for the whirlpool concept.

This is a must see when visiting Niagara Falls! The water is a stunning blue and the whirlpool rapids are mesmerizing. Beautiful trails to hike, but beware if you take the steps down to the water, you must walk the steps back up. Free parking.

Something of a disappointment. The river takes a hard right turn and apparently this causes a large whirlpool that you can take a ride over. There was no evidence of a whirlpool when we were there, so declined to go on the gondola over it

We got to see the whirlpools from above on the trail. It was very interesting, and worthwhile. The area of the whirlpools is very deep.

The turbulent water flow of a river with a lot of curves creates a lot of whirls which you can see here the the very interesting parts you will see when you reach the falls themseles.

Beautiful! Great view of the Whirlpools below. But for the best you need to take the Whirlpool jet boat ride and see them up close!

The water was beautiful. With the level a little low due to drought, it was not as easy to see the actual whirlpool motion, but still worth a trip to view the water and have a quiet rest.

You can take the green line bust to Whirlpool restaurant and take a trail down to another trail that goes down the mountain. Not for the non outdoor person, need to be a bit fit and want to "hike" down the mountain, not an easy path but worth it once you get to the bottom.

I'm not sure. I didn't see any cabins but I'd say to contact the part directly. They have a website and it'll probably have a bunch of information

Will be visiting in late June, and am wondering which State park I should visit for hiking and experience. I have read good reviews of three parks, but have some time restraints. How would you rank Devil's Hole State Park, Whirlpool State Park, and Niagara Gorge Trail for views, experience, and hiking?

They are all connected as a trail. If you start at Whirlpool State Park, you can go either way...toward the falls or Devil's Hole. If you want to walk down Devil's Hole leave a minimum of three hours for experienced hikers and a lot more for novice. Also look at the new Niagara Gorge Discovery area (1 to 1.5 miles from the Whirlpool State Park) toward the falls. You can take an elevator down to the river below the falls (where the Maid of the Mist puts into the river each year) and go on rough trails. Awesome hiking and spectacular views!!!
Is it wheelchair accessible?

The gorge hike is not wheelchair accessable, but there are plenty of paths and park area at the top of the gorge with beautiful scenery that are very much so accseesable along with public restrooms that are accessable. The bathrooms at devils hole on the other hand further down the gorge if i recall are not accessable
